New Custom Line Navetta 50

A 50-METRE-LONG ALUMINIUM DREAM
'
“Construction work on Custom Line Navetta 50 will start at the end of the year and the yacht will be ready for presentation in 2024.”

Custom Line Navetta 50 Project 59759  Custom Line Navetta 50 Project 59773  Custom Line Navetta 50 Project 59761

The new flagship makes its debut in the aluminium yacht segment under 500 GT and introduces some highly appealing features: upper deck master suite, interconnection between interiors and exteriors, glazed surfaces, and a refined and sophisticated architectural interior design by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

A Navetta is the dream yacht for many owners because it fully expresses the unique features of a cruising yacht that is unrivalled for style, comfort and wellbeing on board. The new Navetta 50 joins the brand’s displacement line and becomes its stunning flagship.

Designed entirely in aluminium, with a displacement hull under 500 GT, a length of 49.90 m and a beam of 9.60 m, Custom Line Navetta 50 extends across four decks in a layout that revolves around the positioning of the master suite in the bow on the upper deck, from which all the onboard spaces develop. The master suite is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a 180-degree view and provides direct access to a large private terrace in the bow, complete with sunset solarium.  And this interconnection between interiors and exteriors is, in fact, the other distinctive feature of Custom Line Navetta 50. Replicated in all the guest areas and particularly the lounges on the main and upper decks, it is obtained by using large floor-to-ceiling windows and reflective surfaces that give the sensation of being on an island surrounded by water as far as the eye can see.

The Custom Line Navetta 50 project is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Department led by Mr. Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard Engineering Unit. The exterior styling is once again by Filippo Salvetti, while ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel designed the interior architecture and decoration, permeating it with a sense of refinement and sophistication that points up the personality, values and heritage of the brand, including the reinterpretation of yacht building tradition from a contemporary perspective.

The interior design is based on a concept focused on sophisticated detailing and the use of fine, sustainable materials, including natural leathers, used both in the finishes and in the sophisticated detailing of the custom designed furnishings, resulting from the great skill of the yard’s craftsmen.

An in-depth study of the yacht’s volumes was used to fine tune liveability and deliver maximum comfort on board, providing the owner with very generous spaces normally found on much larger yachts.  Turning to the exterior design, the outdoor spaces running from bow to stern give each deck its own individual personality, creating what are best described as terraces overlooking the water to enjoy at any time of day.

The magnificent beach club at the water’s edge is in direct contact with the aft outdoor area on the main deck, which is fitted out as a private lounge. These two exterior spaces are integrated to perfection by the rectangular pool in the stern and the result is an incredibly atmospheric effect.  The open-air spaces continue with the large bow area, which can be customized according to the owner’s wishes, and a spectacular sun deck, on which the outdoor area in the bow can be used as a lounge and for refreshments, joined by over 70 square metres of interior space reserved for the dining area and American bar. The bow area on the sun deck can also be customized with a Jacuzzi and solarium from which to enjoy a breathtaking view.

As well as the master suite, Navetta 50 offers the owner and guests four guest cabins on the lower deck, accommodating a total of 10 people on board and nine members of crew, including the captain.

On the sustainability front, the use of aluminium rather than steel, which weighs three times as much, cuts consumption by about 10-15% on a 50-metre boat of the same size and volume (GT). The best efficiency is obtained at low rpm and the cruising speed for which the vessel is designed, with an increase in range measured in nautical miles estimated at 10-15%. Custom Line Navetta 33 Hull#01 will also be SCR ready (Selective Catalytic Reduction). At shipyard level, the Superyacht Yard in Ancona has a trigeneration plant producing electric, heat and cooling power, which reduces the consumption of electricity by up to 79% and heat energy by 32%, with annual primary energy savings of 20%.

The available finishes include Alpi Lignum walnut panelling, a living, certified and eco-sustainable material that complies with the strictest international standards because the ZeroF version is produced with zero added formaldehyde; mixers from the Hansgrohe Axor Citterio line designed by Antonio Citterio, with a flow rate of 5 litres/min instead of 12 litres/min which provides the same comfort thanks to the Airpower Technology; Foglizzo natural hides and leathers, 100% recycled materials in which the entire production is based on reused leather.

PERSHING'S SIGNATURE DNA TAKES ON A NEW DIMENSION OF COMFORT
'
“INNOVATIVE, DISRUPTIVE, THILLING.”

 Pershing GTX116 Flybridge  003 GTX116 Project 59236  Pershing GTX116 Project 59248

Monfolfo, July 12th 2022 - With its revolutionary concept and design, the new Pershing GTX116 combines various features currently trending on the market into a unique product, one that stakes its claim to represent the future of the Sport Utility Yacht category with a razor-sharp focus on comfort while staying true to the brand’s DNA imprinted with performance and sportiness.

The flagship in the new GTX range, which redefines the boundaries of the 20 to 40-meter segment, GTX116 offers superlative wellbeing on board but also excellent performance on the water, plus plenty of open-air space, areas in direct contact with the water and liveability guaranteed by the new five-cabin layout.

This cutting-edge masterpiece of naval design responds to new needs expressed by customers, interpreting and reinventing them as only Pershing knows how.  GTX116 is the result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Group’s Engineering Department. Over 35 meters long (115’ 7”) and with a beam of almost 8 meters (25’ 4”) (preliminary data), the hull was built at the Ferretti Group Plug and Mould Plant using techniques based on advanced technology and inspired by Pershing’s signature hand craftsmanship.

EXTERIOR DESIGN AND MAIN FEATURES
On GTX116, a remarkable165 square meters of fully interconnected outdoor areas will redefine the relationship with the water, amplifying onboard liveability in the utmost comfort. The sleek and streamlined profile is emblematic of the brand’s sporty personality, which is pointed up on the bow by a signature style feature referencing Gran Turismo automotive imagery. This first yacht in the new range will be painted a new shade of grey and the generous glazed surfaces will flood the interiors with natural light.
The standout features include the garage, which can contain a tender over 5 meters long, a jet ski and a water toy, and the exclusive 38-square-meter beach club, which has a teak deck protected by an electro-hydraulic taffrail that opens up to connect the beach area with the swim platform, creating a huge space at the water’s edge. The forward living area, entered from the exterior via the port walkway or through the glass doors from the bridge, can even accommodate a Jacuzzi. The 41-square-meter sundeck, reached from the stern area via two outdoor stairways on either side of the yacht, contains the second helm station and is designed with generous spaces for socialising and to enjoy the onboard lifestyle, not least thanks to the shelter provided by the carbon hard top.

INTERIOR DESIGN AND LAYOUT
Reliability and comfort will be the keywords defining the interiors of the new Pershing GTX116. With a design approach that ensures seamless interconnection, the exteriors and interiors become part of the same space, facilitating onboard flows and enhancing the liveability of the areas involved. The large main cockpit, furnished for maximum comfort with a sofa, a dining table and a cocktail bar, will lead into the open space main living area, which features a spacious lounge aft plus a galley and dining area amidships.

On request, the living area can be fitted with floor-to-ceiling glazing on the port side that opens onto a four-meter-long exterior balcony, providing yet more contact with the water in an open-air setting. The first Pershing GTX116 unit has a five-cabin layout, with the full-beam master cabin amidships, including twin ensuite bathrooms, two double VIP cabins and two mirror-image guest cabins with twin beds, all with private bathrooms. The alternative is a layout with four cabins - master, two VIP and one twin - and the added benefit of a living area. The interior design puts the focus on mirrored surfaces and quintessentially Made in Italy materials, including leather by Poltrona Frau.
The crew quarters in the forward section of the lower deck will have a galley, a dinette, a laundry, two double cabins for four crew members and a captain’s cabin, all three with their own bathroom. Crew members will have direct access from the bridge, which is separated from the living area. Featuring a new design incorporating elements in leather, carbon and aluminium, the helm station is equipped with the COMMAND system, which provides multiple touch screens that integrate onboard monitoring functions with navigation instruments. The standard version has four 15-inch screens, while the optional version installed on the first unit will have two 57-inch screens. Owners can choose between two different types of pilot seat: two classic seats in the standard version and a single seat integrated with the main boat controls in the optional version installed on the first unit.

PROPULSION AND TECHNOLOGY
Pershing GTX116 will be equipped with a triple waterjet propulsion system, paired with three MAN V12 2000 engines each rated 2,000 mhp for a top speed of 35.5 knots and a cruising speed of 29.5 knots (preliminary data). The standard engines are three MAN V12 1800 units rated 1,800 mhp. GTX116 can be MCA-certified for use as a charter boat (preliminary data).

Riva Aquarama - An exceptional book

RIVA CELEBRATE THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ICONIC RUN-ABOUT
'
“There are no limits to the beauty of the Aquarama, how perfect it looks and how timeless. It was an instant classic. You could have an eighty-meter yacht, but people will always look at the Aquarama first.”
Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group

Riva Aquarama Lifestyle 1  Riva Aquarama Lifestyle 2  Riva Aquarama Lifestyle 3

Sarnico, July 5th 2022 - When it comes to glamour and high style on the seas, there’s nothing more captivating than the Aquarama. Dreamed up by the legendary Carlo Riva, the run-about wooden speed has become an icon of Italian design and the Riva Aquarama book, edited by Assouline, celebrates its 60th Anniversary. Beloved for its clean lines, mahogany, glistening chrome details and signature robin’s egg-blue and cream upholstery, the Aquarama reflected la dolce vita optimism of early-‘60s Italy; it’s impossible to picture the glittering Côte d’Azur and coasts of Europe without visions of endless summers spent lounging on the back of the boat in the warm summer sun, and the gentle roar of the engine as the Aquarama cuts through the surf.

The Riva icon enjoyed a mythical status and was beloved by movie stars, heads of state and royalty - everyone from Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, Gunter Sachs and the royal family of Monaco, among countless other luminaries, have been enchanted by the Aquarama’s spell. Of the about 760 completed Aquaramas made in the Sarnico shipyard, Riva experts estimate around 650 are still in existence, which only adds to the boat’s legendary status. But more than just a trophy, the Aquarama is fiercely beloved by its owners and enthusiasts alike—it’s not just a boat, but the realization of a dream.

In this exceptional tribute to the Aquarama, author Michael Verdon tells the story of the legendary boat and brings to life its dolce vita charm. The book is also offered in a special edition, presented in a luxury mahogany box that is crafted to express the beauty of the Aquarama’s magnificent hull. This special edition offers owners, collectors and enthusiasts alike a piece of the Riva dream. EDITED BY Assouline

Venice, June 13th - Riva’s 180th anniversary tells the story of a wonderful adventure of style and elegance that has raised boatbuilding to the level of art. Such a glamorous and radiant celebratory gala could only be held in an equally grandiose venue, the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Which is in fact where last Saturday, June 11, Ferretti Group invited owners and international guests for an exclusive event with a highly atmospheric show that celebrates the story of the first 180 years of the yacht world’s most famous brand.

The Gala night was the occasion for the world premiere of “Riva The Persuaders!”, the short film inspired by the cult TV series, made over the past few weeks on the coast spanning the border between Italy, Monaco and the Côte d’Azur and produced by Armando Testa Studios. The hugely famous protagonists are Pierfrancesco Favino, the most important Italian actor, who was also in the Riva brand’s first short film (“Riva in the Movie”), the international football star David Beckham, an icon of British style and one of the most followed celebrities in the world and Charles Leclerc, the Scuderia Ferrari driver and idol of thousands Formula 1 fans around the world.

“This was the night of Riva's 180th anniversary and of a thousand emotions for enthusiasts of the brand and its unique boats,” said Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO. “We chose Venice and La Fenice because they are unique places in the world and, like us, they live in magical harmony with the water, art and beauty. My thanks go to David Beckham, Pierfrancesco Favino and Charles Leclerc, who have shown their friendship towards Riva by contributing to a spectacular short film, one of those miracles that happen when champions are involved. I am also honored to introduce to the world the ‘Anniversario’, an iconic new boat, for very few lucky owners, and another masterpiece of outstanding elegance. Best wishes to Riva as it starts to write boating history for the next 180 years.”

The excitement began before the event started, when a floating platform moored on Venice's Grand Canal, in front of the Riva Lounge at the Gritti Palace, provided a unique stage for the unveiling of the new Riva “Anniversario”, the special limited edition boat created to mark this iconic anniversary and also to pay tribute to the Aquarama on its 60th birthday, a masterpiece of timeless design featured in a fine art book published for the occasion by Assouline.

During the Gala night, “Riva The Persuaders!”, the new short movie from the brand, received its world premiere.
Inspired by the famous TV series, the movie features three global stars: Pierfrancesco Favino, David Beckham and Charles Leclerc.

The new Riva “Anniversario” was unveiled on a floating platform on the Venice Grand Canal.
A new masterpiece produced in a special limited edition of just 18 boats to celebrate Riva's 180th anniversary and to pay tribute to the legendary Aquarama, which turns 60 this year.

Ferretti Yachts 580

AN EMBLEM OF MODERN LUXURY
'the Ferretti Yachts 580
has ideal features for an intimate & comfortable experience in perfect Ferretti Yachts style'

 FerrettiYachts580ProjectContemporary 0001 56789  FerrettiYachts580P 002 image 56809  FerrettiYachts580ProjectContemporary 0003 56791

Forlì, 2nd May, 2022 - Ferretti Yachts extends the flybridge range by presenting Ferretti Yachts 580, the yacht that turns time spent on board into something unique and spectacular. Over 18 metres in length and five in the beam, the evolution of one of the best-loved models in the 50 to 60-foot range delivers even higher standards of comfort, modern luxury and wellbeing, the signature values of the Ferretti Yachts philosophy. The project is already a great success, with seven units sold so far, confirming that this type of boat is seen as a timeless classic. The launch of the first unit is planned for October 2022 and the yacht will make her official debut at the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show.

The exteriors of the Ferretti Yachts 580 feature an attractive design with a strong personality and clean, sporty lines that echo the stylistic cues introduced by Salvetti. “The design of the exteriors is the result of a gesture, a blade-shaped detail that defines the character of the superstructure. Extensive glazed surfaces and ceiling heights of at least two metres offer excellent visibility, framing the sky and the sea in one highly spectacular panorama,” said architect Filippo Salvetti.

The major innovations include the wide range of customisation options available not only on the main deck but also on the lower deck, which offers two layouts, both with three cabins. One has the master cabin midships with a study or vanity area, a double cabin forward, a double cabin with twin beds, and two bathrooms. In the other layout, the study that leads into the master cabin becomes a third bathroom. Another point of interest is the electrically operated window that connects the cockpit and the galley, revealing a spacious counter and creating an area devoted to conviviality.

The interiors are designed to ensure comfort and wellbeing when cruising. Turning to the materials, the mix of fine woods and fabrics conveys a clean and rational sense of design in a refined and elegant style, the epitome of modern luxury. Ferretti Yachts 580 will be available in Classic and Contemporary versions. While the former taps into warm, earthy elements, the Contemporary mood features glowing woods and fabrics in fresh hues inspired by the colours of the sea, and both share unmistakable Made in Italy styling.

Ferretti Yachts 580 can be equipped with a pair of 900 mhp (std) or 1,000 mhp (opt) VOLVO PENTA engines.
It will also be possible to install all the technology featured on the latest Ferretti Yachts models, as the Humphree dynamic trim interceptors and the XENTA electro-hydraulic steering system (standard), or the manoeuvring joystick and the gyroscopic stabilisation (optional), to create the configuration that best meets the owner’s personal navigation and berthing needs.

Brexit – FAQs for Yacht Owners

INTRODUCTION:

 Image 1  monaco ensign  Superyachts

It is the purpose of this guide to answer some of our most frequently asked questions concerning yachts and Brexit following the end of the Brexit Transition Period at 11pm on the 31st December, 2020.  Readers should be aware that the contents of this guide should not be relied upon as any kind of tax advice or legal opinion.

1. I am an EU citizen - will I still qualify for a UK flag registration following the end of the Transition Period?
The UK flag is a hugely popular flag for yachts sailing within the EU.

The UK Register of Ships provides an excellent operating platform for both private and commercial yachts. The UK Register of Ships has proved particularly attractive for EU citizens and residents.

As part of a series of UK legislative changes precipitated by Brexit the UK Government published a statutory instrument titled ‘The Merchant Shipping (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendments Etc.) (Eu Exit) Regulations 2018’.

The instrument confirms that the same persons (both individuals and legal entities) who currently qualify for vessel registration in the UK will be able to do so after the UK leaves the EU.  This means that there is no need or requirement for any yacht owner currently holding a UK registration for their vessel to change their registration on eligibility grounds.

2. If my UK registered yacht is EU VAT paid in the EU and lying within the remaining 27 EU countries at the time the transition ends will I lose my EU VAT paid status?
The VAT status of a yacht is not directly determined by its country of registration. A yacht registered in any third country can sail under free circulation in the EU if VAT and any applicable EU import duty has been paid or accounted for in the EU, (i.e. the yacht is considered to hold Union good status).

An EU VAT paid yacht holding a UK flag lying in the remaining 27 EU countries at the end of the transition period should not therefore lose its EU VAT paid status which is a position confirmed by the EU in their guide titled “BREXIT: END OF TRANSITION PERIOD FAQs ON TAX AND CUSTOMS” where they state the following in respect of any yacht holding Union good status:
“If, on 1 January 2021, your boat is located in an EU port or sails in EU territorial waters, it will keep its Union status.”

3. If my UK registered yacht is lying in the UK when the transition period ends will I have to pay EU VAT if I take the vessel into the EU?
The EU in their guide titled “BREXIT: END OF TRANSITION PERIOD FAQs ON TAX AND CUSTOMS” states the following:
“From 1 January 2021, Union goods in the customs territory of the UK will lose their Union status and will become UK goods…………….if at that time your boat is located in the UK, its status will be that of a third-country boat when arriving in the territorial waters of the Union. This means that it will be treated as non-Union goods and will be subject to the same customs controls as boats coming from a third country.

If your boat is brought back to the EU and fulfils the conditions to be considered as a returned goods, then it can be declared to customs as such. Otherwise, it can be declared for temporary admission as a non-Union goods. In both cases, the declaration can be done by the sole act of crossing the frontier.”

4. After the end of the transition period will I need to pay UK VAT on my yacht if I visit the UK?
In theory UK VAT is payable upon arrival in the UK unless the vessel qualifies for operation under the UK rules for Temporary Admission or if the vessel qualifies for a customs relief such as Return Goods Relief, Inward Processing Relief or Transfer of Residence Relief.

5. I am a UK resident looking to purchase a new yacht after the end of the transition period. Will I need to pay EU VAT if I sail exclusively within the remaining 27 EU countries?
Following the end of the transition period it is expected that a UK resident will have the ability to visit the waters of the remaining 27 EU countries without paying EU VAT on their vessels under the provisional of existing Temporary Admission rules.

This is confirmed by the EU in their guide titled “BREXIT: END OF TRANSITION PERIOD FAQs ON TAX AND CUSTOMS” which states the following:
“47. I own a boat which will be kept in the UK. Will I be able to bring it to EU waters from the UK for competitions or holidays, without completing customs formalities, or incurring VAT or other charges?

A boat or plane for private use can be temporarily brought into the EU from a third country without paying VAT or other charges, through a temporary admission procedure.
The boat or aircraft must be registered outside the EU and owned by a person established outside the EU, to benefit from this procedure with total relief from import duty. They must leave the EU again within set time limits: 6 months for an aircraft and 18 months for a boat/sea vessel.”

6. Can a UK registered charter yacht still charter within the remaining 27 EU countries after the transition period ends?
To charter within the EU the basic rule is that any charter yacht regardless of its nationality must be imported into free circulation as a commercially operated vessel.
Usually the VAT registration of the charter company owning the vessel is the primary driver of eligibility to qualify “free circulation status” of the yacht rather than the nationality of its commercial flag state registration.

Some countries also allow the charter of yachts entered into European Union waters under Temporary Admission subject to certain restrictions.

Following the end of the Brexit transition period there should be no reason why a UK registered commercially registered charter yacht will not still be able to charter within the EU provided that the owning charter company follows all relevant fiscal obligations and provided that there are no regulations at a national level that specifically prohibit the charter of yachts registered in third countries (for example Greece currently prohibits the charter of non-EU flagged yachts and certain limitations apply to small non-EU flagged charter yachts in Spain).

Ferretti Yachts 500 - A New Era

'JUST LIKE HOME' PHILOSOPHY

The new range will showcase a completely revolutionised design, interpreting the “JUST LIKE HOME” philosophy that will distinguish all of the fleet’s models.

The new Ferretti Yachts philosophy is here, and it has so much to offer to anyone looking for an unparalleled thrill. The traditional Italian luxury yacht brand, a global nautical leader, is indeed announcing a complete style revolution.  This challenge will be taken on by Ferretti Yachts 500, based on the “Just Like Home” philosophy, expressing a life at sea that is the perfect combination between style and comfort. The revolution begins from the strategic 50-foot segment, but it will sweep through the entire range, including the fleet’s new flagship.

With a completely updated design, both projects are the result of the partnership between the Strategic Product Committee, the Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department, architect Filippo Salvetti for the exteriors and the design studio Ideaeitalia for the new interior concept. And it is precisely in the interiors that the souls of the new Ferretti Yachts models will be represented by two different moods. A classic line with warmer, more enveloping tones and another more contemporary one, with intense tones, both designed to suit the tastes of international customers. The new Ferretti Yachts 500 project stands out due to the spaces designed to offer an enveloping sense of well-being, through carefully selected, high-quality furnishings with an Italian flair. Owners will be able to choose from two different layouts on the lower deck. The first features a spacious master cabin and a VIP cabin, both with their own bathrooms, in addition to a small laundry area. The other layout includes a master cabin, a VIP cabin and a double with two single beds, and two bathrooms with a separate shower.

A yacht inspired by an advanced vision of sailing, in which nautical adventure and the domestic realm fuse together in the comfort of volumes and features generally found on larger yachts, within a familial environment that makes guests feel right at home. The new Ferretti Yachts 500 will make its official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2020.
