AN ICON OF NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND CUTTING-EDGE ENGINEERING
'the CRN 67M skilfully combines technological innovation, refined craftsmanship, and the Italian art of bespoke'
![]() |
CRN’s new full-custom pleasure vessel with a displacement hull, built from steel and aluminum, was launched today in Ancona at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, where M/Y Amor à Vida touched the water for the first time during an emotion-filled private launch ceremony.
Previously known as Project MARANELLO, M/Y Amor à Vida, 67.55 metres in length overall, 11.80 metres in the beam and 1450 GT, combines CRN’s know-how and the shipyard’s design and build quality with the creativity of Nuvolari Lenard for the exterior styling and interior design of this superyacht.
Brokerage house Moran Yacht & Ship has played a key role as the owner’s representative and project management team for the customer. This role has continued throughout all stages of construction, from technical inspection and approval to project management activities and on-site supervision and coordination support for external contractors.
The result is a fully bespoke 67-metre steel and aluminium yacht spanning 6 decks and accommodating up to 12 guests and 17 crew.
The exterior styling of M/Y Amor à Vida is sleek, taut, sweeping and powerful - a distinct stylistic identity that fully embraces the owner’s specific requirements and embodies his vision and lifestyle.
The yacht is fitted with a state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion system that increases the fuel efficiency of both the main engines and the generators and improves guests’ comfort while underway. A heat recovery system is also installed to optimize hot water management for the pools and plumbing system, reducing energy impact and costs while ensuring fast and efficient service.
Work will continue in the coming months on interior and exterior outfitting, as well as on testing and sea trials through to handover to the customer, which is scheduled for spring.

A NEW CONSTRUCTION STEP AT FERRETTI GROUP SUPERYACHT YARD IN ANCONA
A new construction phase begins with a spectacular relocation of the hull
![]() |
The hull has now been transported by sea on a barge to the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona and immediately after the arrival a full hull 3D scan happened. After the preparatory works, the artisans’ expert hands will take care of the carpentry, the fitting-out, the machinery, the on-board systems and equipment, before the installation of the furniture. The hull exterior will also be meticulously primed and painted. The numerous production stages proceed in parallel and in staggered fashion in the various sections of the hull through a process of perfect symbiosis, like instruments in a symphony orchestra building to a crescendo – the completion of the piece.
For the construction of this yacht, the best craftsmen, artisans and skilled workers are involved, both from the shipyard and from outside, aligned to make the owner's vision a reality while adhering to the highest quality standards.
This new megayacht with its classic, timeless line and a striking sense of style that fully reflects her owner’s vision and requirements for a pleasure ship suited to long, pleasurable, contemplative cruises and as the perfect support vessel for sailing regattas.
The CRN M/Y 145-Project Thunderball combines CRN’s design and build quality and know-how with the experience of the architecture studio Vripack - which developed the external lines and the naval architecture together with the Ferretti Group Superyachts Division Engineering team - and the creativity of the Nauta Design studio - for the interior design and outdoor furniture.
The leading brokerage and management company Y.CO, who plays a key role as Owner’s representatives and project management team, continues in its work in supporting the Owner through the construction stage to the technical checks, inspection and acceptance as well as with the project management, the on-site supervision and supporting coordination of the external contractors.
The megayacht will have 5 decks, a length overall of 70 metres with a beam of 11 metres and 1,100 GT, accommodating up to 12 guests and 15 crew in exceptional comfort.
CRN M/Y 145 is a vessel with a traditional elongated bow, a low profile and svelte lines like a sailboat, with curved bilges and a smooth surface. The entire design has been carefully devised for highly efficient cruising and comfortable, convenient manoeuvring. Interior Design concept goes beyond time and fashion. It expresses a culture of the sea, a sophisticated collection of details, a combination of heritage blended with a refined contemporary look, fully reinterpreting them from the latest lifestyle point of view.
With the CRN M/Y 145, the shipyard continues to work towards conscious yacht design, entailing first and foremost the development of energy recovery solutions and proper sizing of the ship’s equipment. This totally bespoke megayacht is therefore fitted with a peak shaving system to increase energy efficiency and slash fuel consumption.
It will be ready for launch in 2026.
Besides the CRN M/Y 145, CRN is currently building another three full-custom superyachts: 67m CRN M/Y 143 Project Maranello, 85m CRN M/Y 144 and 67m CRN M/Y PROJECT 146.

CRN 60M - M/Y COMFORTABLY NUMB
M/Y COMFORTABLY NUMB: THE PERFECT BLEND OF BESPOKE DESIGN & SOPHISTICATED NAVAL ENGINEERING
Outstanding performance combined with maximum cruising comfort for this 60-metre aluminium yacht
![]() |
Delivered in December 2022, the 60-metre aluminium M/Y Comfortably Numb is a paradigm of innovation and bespoke design by CRN. This unique project – with full-custom design, naval architecture, engineering and construction – was developed by the brand at the Ancona Superyacht Yard.
Highly innovative, she’s the result of CRN’s in-depth know-how and ongoing R&D effort. The shipyard’s design and build quality blends admirably with the creativity of Italian architects Nuvolari Lenard, who developed the concept for the exterior styling and interiors. The result is a totally bespoke, handcrafted ship with spaces designed to offer an fantastic cruising experience, perfect for an owner family who enjoy spending long periods on board.
Keenly desired by expert owners who wanted a high-performance displacement superyacht, CRN M/Y Comfortably Numb combines reduced draft for cruising in the shallow waters of the Caribbean, courtesy of her in-line propellers, with generous ceiling heights and plenty of space in the guest and crew areas, both key features of the customer’s vision and kept in mind by the shipyard’s project management team throughout the design process.
CRN M/Y Comfortably Numb has a very strong stylistic identity, featuring exterior lines that are sleek, taut, sweeping and powerful, expressing the yacht’s sophisticated yet contemporary elegance and tapping into the ideas of speed and fluidity typical of automotive design. The sculpted silhouette and bold exterior styling are eye-catching even from a distance, breathing life into a one-of-a-kind, full-custom icon.
60.33 metres long, 10.55 metres in the beam and with a gross tonnage of 1,114 GT, the superyacht spans five decks and can accommodate 12 guests and 13 crew. Featuring cutting-edge technology combined with superlative craftsmanship, CRN M/Y Comfortably Numb is designed for maximum cruising comfort, even on long voyages, and delivers unique performance for a pleasure vessel, with a top speed of over 25 knots. Designed and built to the highest standards of excellence and epitomising the brand’s innovative approach, Comfortably Numb is a high-performance superyacht that marries outstanding performance with an exclusive on-board lifestyle. In the development process, there was a special focus on generous, comfortable living areas designed to convey a powerful sense of spaciousness: the light-filled interiors and exteriors are masterfully interconnected and amplified by floor-to-ceiling windows that establish constant, direct contact with the sea.
And with the ultimate aim of achieving the exacting weight and speed requirements stipulated in the contract, this hi-tech superyacht draws on materials research as complex as it is meticulous. One example is CRN’s use of lightweight cork during the application and levelling of the teak decking, preferring it to higher-density alternatives.
With its team of specialist engineers and technical experts, CRN has devised a system of extremely precise strain gauges to constantly monitor the vessel’s weight and centre of gravity via Wi-Fi. The two MTU 20V 4000 M93L engines – the first to be fitted on a CRN yacht – are combined with a SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system and power the vessel to a top speed of over 25 knots and a cruising speed of 22.5 knots. The CRN engineering team's razor-sharp focus on fine-tuning their design and calculations has created a supremely innovative, lightweight and high-performance superyacht.
The 60-metre CRN M/Y Comfortably Numb’s IMO Tier III certification is the result of a reduction of up to 70% in harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions contained in the engine exhaust.
A dazzling combination of naval engineering, innovation, craftsmanship and bespoke Italian style, the 60-metre CRN M/Y Comfortably Numb is a sublime expression of the pooled expertise at the historic Ancona yard. For over 60 years, our talented staff, partners and suppliers operate there every day to create iconic yachts that are unique, distinctive and state-of-the-art, reflecting their owners’ vision and lifestyle.

Ancona, 3rd November, 2023
CRN M/Y CIAO, a full-custom all-aluminium yacht by CRN, has triumphed at the prestigious ISS DESIGN AND LEADERSHIP AWARDS in the Best in Motor <500 GT (above 24m) category. The honour was presented on Thursday 26 October at a gala evening in the elegant setting of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach at a gathering of the leading lights in the nautical world.
Now in its 33rd edition, these historic awards – the first in the yachting world – celebrate excellence in design, engineering and innovation.
A testament to the shipyard’s total dedication, its creativity and talent for innovation, ISS DESIGN AND LEADERSHIP AWARDS are given for the designs adjudged the most groundbreaking not only for their naval architecture and engineering solutions but also for their aesthetics and the elegance of their lines. As well as reflecting CRN’s superlative design and build quality, this accolade underlines the shipyard’s unrivalled ability to turn an owner’s vision and brief into reality.
The features that especially impressed the jury include the taut, svelte lines, the vertical bow and the continual interplay between the internal and external spaces. The generous windows were admired for the glorious natural light that brings out the vivid splashes of colour that are such a feature of the furnishings and materials. On the technical side, the judges also praised the clever use of the open-air garage to keep the yacht under 500 GT, as well as the excellent handling of space to enhance the on-board entertainment experience for the owner and guests.
This 52-metre vessel was designed and built by CRN, which also developed the entire naval architecture. The yard partnered with architecture and design studio Omega Architects, who conceived the external lines, and architects Massari Design, who created all the spacious outdoor guest areas and the well-lit interiors.
Creativity, passion, experience, originality and uniqueness: these are the key elements that go into making every CRN superyacht. The quality shines through in every aspect, from the virtuoso craftsmanship and in-depth technical know-how to the meticulous attention to detail. Recognised for its innovative naval architectures and advanced engineering solutions, CRN specialises in designing exclusive, tailor-made, one-off yachts – perfect fusions of ideas, expertise and professionalism.
At 52 metres long and 9 metres in the beam, this 5-deck yacht has a gross tonnage of 499 GT. She accommodates up to 10 guests in the sumptuous main-deck owner suite and 4 VIP cabins on the lower deck. There are also 6 cabins for the 11 crew.
CRN M/Y CIAO reflects the character of a knowledgeable owner with a passion for the sea. He was particular about the social zones, requiring roomy, comfortable open-air spaces linked with fluid precision to the large, luminous interiors. The magnificent outdoor areas – like the two palatial lounges with sunbathing area and pool, one on the sun deck and the other on the main deck, or the ample al-fresco dining area on the upper deck – are conceived as multipurpose convivial spaces for enjoying the open-air life to the full in intimate touch with the sea.
CRN M/Y CIAO is a product of creative design, flexible thinking and state-of-the-art technology, a superb example of the Ancona yard’s supreme construction expertise.

NEW INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION FOR CRN
NEW INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION IN THE NAME OF SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
'THE SUSTAINABLE POWERED YACHT (SuP-Y) PROJECT AIMS TO INSTALL ADVANCED FUEL CELLS ON BOARD A SUPERYACHT'
![]() |
|---|
Ancona, 11th October, 2023
RINA Services Spa certifies that the SUSTAINABLE POWERED YACHT (SuP-Y) project is sized appropriately and in line with regulatory requirements for safe implementation
CRN, the historic shipyard specialising in the design, engineering and construction of superyachts up to 90 metres, has written an important chapter in the brand’s 60-year history by obtaining special recognition for the SuP-Y: Sustainable Powered Yacht Project. After a year and a half of R&D work together, RINA Services Spa confirms that the Ferretti Group Sustainable Yacht project is sized appropriately for proper functioning and easy management, and meets the regulatory requirements for safe implementation.
A coordinated effort by Ferretti Group Super Yacht Division, Weichai Power Science & Technology Division and RINA Services Spa has made it possible to develop a sustainable architecture that entails the installation of modern fuel cells on board a CRN superyacht. This new technology takes an important step towards the future of yachting, based on an easy-to-manage solution that meets all regulatory requirements to ensure safety on board.
The purpose of the project is to determine a sustainable technical architecture with the most efficient implementation of Fuel Cell technology on board a Ferretti Group Super Yacht. “Sustainable concepts” have been developed for two superyacht naval platforms:
1. Platform 11.50 with hybrid propulsion for yachts from 60m to 70m
2. Platform 14.20 with a diesel-electric power plant for yachts from 75m to 90m
Both architectures are equipped with PEM Fuel Cells as an alternative power source, fed by hydrogen reformed from green methanol and optimized to ensure predefined levels of performance and autonomy: several days in full hotel mode without diesel generators running and the capability to sail in zero emission mode for several hours depending on cruising speed. This approach significantly reduces total emissions and ensures compliance with the strictest environmental standards.
The collaboration with RINA Services Spa confirms and underscores CRN’s commitment to pushing both the boundaries of sustainable maritime applications and the brand’s proactive approach towards the incorporation of sustainable power supplies into their vessels. This initiative shows that the shipyard is at the forefront of adopting greener technologies within the yachting industry.

This new yacht, with her classic, timeless line, has a striking sense of style that fully reflects the owner’s vision and requirements for a pleasure ship suited to long, pleasurable, contemplative cruises.
This is a vessel with a traditional elongated bow, a low profile and svelte lines like a sailboat, with curved bilges and a smooth surface.
